Joy’s Garden

🥦🌱From Little things big things grow🥕🥬

Our garden is more than soil and seeds - it’s a living classroom, a service project, and a daily reminder of God’s abundant blessings.

With plenty of faith and care, our organic vegetable garden gives students the opportunity to plant, cultivate, harvest, and share food grown straight from the earth.

Their hands in the soil and sunshine on their shoulders, our children learn that healthy food doesn’t come from a package…it comes from patience, stewardship, and gratitude.

Each week, you’ll find us at the Oceanside Farmers Market with a booth full of fresh, organically grown vegetables. Every tomato, bundle of herbs, and crisp head of lettuce represents more than nourishment as it represents teamwork, responsibility, and joy. Our students proudly serve their community, learning firsthand what it means to work hard and give generously.

We teach our children that caring for creation is a sacred responsibility. As they water seedlings and pull weeds, they learn about sustainability, nutrition, and the beauty of growing food naturally.

Just as importantly, we believe nothing should go to waste. When our harvest is plentiful, we find meaningful ways to share fresh produce with community members who may need a little extra support. In doing so, our students learn compassion in action. They see that generosity multiplies blessings.

Our garden is growing more than vegetables. It’s growing character. It’s growing service. It’s growing faith.

Through every season, we remain committed to cultivating healthy food, strong values, and a spirit of gratitude. We are honored to share this gift with our Oceanside community and we are thankful to God for the opportunity to grow together. 🌱

🧑‍🌾Can’t Make It to the Garden, But Want to Help? 🌿

You can still be part of growing something beautiful.

Our St. Mary’s organic vegetable garden is always in need of a few simple (but powerful!) supplies to keep our students planting, learning, and serving the community.

We gratefully welcome donations of:

  • Organic seeds (vegetables, herbs, pollinators)

  • Nutrient-rich soil and compost

  • Small garden tools (hand trowels, gloves, watering cans)

  • Seedling trays and starter containers

  • Garden bed liners and plant supports

  • Plant markers and labels for the Farmers Market

  • Twine, stakes, and trellises

  • Harvest baskets and reusable produce bags

Every packet of seeds and every scoop of soil helps us teach our students how to grow food from the earth and how to share God’s blessings with others.

Thank you for helping us cultivate faith, service, and fresh vegetables for our community. 🌱
