Father Rey Evangelista’s leadership of both school and church provides the spiritual formation of our students where it is not an addition to their education; it is the foundation of it. Father Rey ensures that faith, academic life, service, and community remain beautifully unified in Catholic tradition. If you ever have questions about school or church matters and wish to speak with Father Rey, he is always here for you.

We warmly invite you to visit our parish home on Pier View Way, located just eight blocks from campus. Our students frequently walk to the church to celebrate Mass alongside fellow parishioners, visibly expressing the unity between altar and classroom. Families who are registered parishioners of St. Mary, Star of the Sea receive a tuition discount, reflecting the shared commitment between parish and school. While the school is proudly Catholic, we welcome all families and students who respect the faith and hope to pursue the excellence of Catholic education. God bless and welcome all!

100 Years of Catholic Faith in Oceanside

As our parish joyfully prepares to celebrate 100 years in Oceanside, we give thanks for a century of faith, community, and service by the sea. The ocean’s beauty, healing presence, and steady rhythm have shaped our parish life for generations. Yet the very waters that bless us have also challenged our historic church building.

After a full century of coastal winds and salt air, our beloved Mission-Renaissance church, designed by architect Emmet G. Martin, is in need of essential restoration. Saltwater exposure has worn the exterior structure, and the moisture-rich environment has gradually impacted the original interior woodwork. To preserve this sacred space for the next hundred years, vital repairs are now underway.
