Quick Question?
Excellence through Classical
Catholic Education
Catholic schools often outperform public schools in a number of meaningful ways. According to the 2024 NAEP (Nation’s Report Card), fourth-grade Catholic students scored 247 in math compared to 237 for public school students, and they outpaced public-school students in reading by 16 points. At eighth grade, Catholic schools led by 21 points in math and 20 points in reading.
Beyond test scores, Catholic schools also show extremely high graduation rates: about 99% of Catholic high school students graduate, compared to significantly lower national public-school averages. A long-standing study by Coleman and Greeley found that Catholic-school students gain roughly 0.8 to 1.1 years of extra academic growth in reading, math, and writing thanks in part to stricter discipline, heavier homework loads, and more rigorous coursework.
